Maple Apples


Sweet and delicious, baked apples satisfy your family's sweet tooth and supply nutritional benefits, too.

Ingredients
  • 4 medium cooking apples, cored
  • 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons reduced-calorie maple-flavored syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
Directions
  • Cut off a strip of peel near the top of each apple. Arrange apples in a 2-quart square baking dish. Fill apples with raisins or cranberries and walnuts. Brush apples with syrup. Add the water to the baking dish.
  • Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender, basting occasionally with the cooking liquid. Serve warm. Makes 4 servings.
