Acai Berry Mango Sorbet Recipe

Here's a refreshing summer recipe using the hot new superfood ingredient from Brazil's Amazon Rainforest, the acai berry. This makes a wonderful light dessert that's perfect for a hot and humid day.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 cups mango, frozen
- 1 1/3 cups frozen Acai
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 1/4 cups freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- Place the sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan and cook until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
- Place the mangoes and bananas in a food processor fitted with a steel blade and puree. Combine the sugar mixture, Acai, lime juice, and salt with the mango banana puree.
- Refrigerate until cold. Freeze in an ice cream machine according to manufacturer's directions. Serve directly from the ice cream machine or freeze.
